External Award Opportunities

Mount Royal University students are eligible to apply for a variety of award opportunities offered through external organizations. These awards are competitive as they may also be offered to post-secondary students attending universities across Alberta or Canada.

 

External awards are not administered by Mount Royal University; applications or requests for more information must be submitted directly to the organization administering the award (unless otherwise stated). The Williams Group (TWG) Foundation Scholarships
The Williams Group (TWG) Foundation, a non-profit organization under The Williams Group of Companies Ltd. is offering scholarships to Indigenous students enrolled in any type of post-secondary school.

Deadline: May 30, 2024

The Zane Fisher Personal Development Bursary

The Zane Fisher Personal Development Bursary was created to honour the compassion Zane had for living your best life and sharing that with others. This bursary is not based on scholarship but rather the desire to personally grow; to develop new skills that will empower the individual and that will have an impact on themselves and perhaps their community. This annual bursary awards a young adult to support achieving a goal they have identified as important to their personal or professional growth.

Amount: One at $1,000

The Canadian Science Policy Centre (CSPC) Awards
The Canadian Science Policy Centre (CSPC) awards recognize the efforts of individuals who make exceptional contributions to the field of science policy, as well as the efforts of the youth who demonstrate the possibilities of innovative, evidence-based policies that positively impact Canadians. This year, CSPC will present the Youth Award along with four Trailblazer Awards: Science for Policy, Policy for Science, Innovation Policy and a new award for this year: Science & Society.

Bursary for Internationally Educated Nurses
The Rural Health Professions Action Plan (RhPAP), together with the Government of Alberta’s Ministry of Advanced Education, is pleased to announce that the application portal for the second cycle of the Bursary for Internationally Educated Nurses (BIEN) program is now open.

BIEN provides up to $30,000 in funding to internationally educated nurses enrolled in an approved nursing bridging program starting January 1, 2023, or later. In exchange for the bursary, students must sign a return-in-service agreement to work full-time in a BIEN-eligible rural Alberta community following their graduation. RhPAP reviews all BIEN applications in the order in which they were received and will accept applications until available funding has been distributed or when the application portal closes on June 30, 2024
