On Dec. 16, 2010, Mount Royal University officially turned 100 years old. In recognition of this significant milestone our community celebrated the party of the century, Aug. 2010 - Dec. 2011.
Founded in 1910, Mount Royal opened its doors in 1911 and welcomed 179 students during that first academic year.
Today, it’s hard to find anyone in the Calgary region whose life has not been touched by Mount Royal — whether as a student, a professor, an employee, or an alum — and we were proud to share our 100 year birthday with our community.
