His book Hero of the Play
(Wolsak & Wynn 1994), poems told
in the language of hockey, was
the first book of poetry launched
at the Hockey Hall of Fame.
Its reading at the Saddledome
marked his introduction as the
University of Calgary's Markin-Flanagan
Writer-in-Residence
for 1995/96.
