Message from Patricia Hinds
President, of the Mount Royal University — Social Work Alumni Chapter
I am both honored and excited to serve you as President of Mount Royal University Alumni Association Social Work Alumni Chapter. Mount Royal University has often been referred to as a “community within a community” where strong professional and lifelong personal connections are cultivated. The Social Work Alumni Chapter has in the past, and proudly continues to be, a major connective artery for Social Work students, both past and present.
One of the major goals of the Chapter is to provide opportunities for Social Work alumni to network and form partnerships with others in the Mount Royal University community, as well as in mentoring a new generation of students who are dedicated to advocacy and social justice. These alumni networks not only provide professional connections, but also unique learning opportunities and a way to provide a noble legacy for current students and future alumni.
Belonging to the Social Work Alumni Chapter offers members the opportunity to attend functions geared towards social connections, as well as academic and professional development. I would like to encourage all alumni to support the Chapter and its mission, by coming to its events and promoting its expansion. The membership is open to Social Work alumni who attended programs at Mount Royal and fit the criteria for alumni status. Membership is free. Please fill out the online membership form and fax to Shirley Reynolds, Office of Alumni Relations, at 403.440.7070 or contact Shirley at sreynolds@mtroyal.ca or 403.440.7047.
The Social Work Alumni Chapter board is dedicated to being a vibrant and connective conduit by uniting alumni through future social events. We invite you to join us. See you there!
Sincerely,
Patricia Hinds Class of 2008
