Mount Royal University launches Alberta’s newest
Bachelor of Education degree

(CALGARY – Feb. 18, 2011) Mount Royal University celebrated yet another milestone in its 100 year history as it announced the launch of Alberta’s newest Bachelor of Education degree during a brief ceremony at the University this morning.

Manmeet Bhullar, MLA for Calgary-Montrose announced Mount Royal’s new Bachelor of Education, Elementary degree, which will commence in fall 2011.

The launch of the Bachelor of Education, Elementary is part of Mount Royal’s commitment to providing access to high-quality degree programs that are relevant to students and to the community.

This new four-year degree builds on the University’s existing Bachelor of Education — University Transfer course, which has been offered for the past twenty years.

“The Bachelor of Education, Elementary is taught by accessible professors who model excellence in teaching and effective learning environments as they educate a new generation of teachers,” says Associate Professor and Chair, Department of Education and Schooling at Mount Royal, Irene Naestead.
