Chair of Mount Royal’s Board of Governors to receive honorary degree from the University of Western Ontario

(CALGARY – June 10, 2009) The current Chair of Mount Royal’s Board of Governors, Ms. Cathy Williams, is being recognized for her outstanding success as a business professional with an honorary degree from her alma mater, the University of Western Ontario, tomorrow (June 11) at Western’s 293rd Convocation.

“We are very proud of Cathy and truly appreciate her contributions to and leadership of Mount Royal’s Board of Governors,” says Mount Royal President, Dave Marshall. “This is certainly a well-deserved honour.”

Williams was appointed to Mount Royal’s Board of Governors in October 2003 and designated Board Chair in October 2007. She is a member of the Board’s Academic Affairs, Audit and Finance, Human Resources and Compensation, Campus Development, Governance and Nominating (Chair), and External Affairs Committees.
