Mount Royal to award the first of its own bachelor’s degrees at Convocation 2009

(CALGARY – June 2, 2009) Mount Royal will be conferring the first of its very own bachelor’s degrees at two convocation ceremonies on Friday, June 5, 2009. Twenty-nine students will graduate with Mount Royal university-level degrees from three programs: Bachelor of Arts – Criminal Justice, Bachelor of Communications and Bachelor of Business Administration.

Convocation 2009 will be held on Friday, June 5 in the Triple Gym at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Provost and Vice-President, Academic, Robin Fisher says, “Graduating students from our very own bachelor’s degree programs is a huge step for Mount Royal. It highlights the academic development of Mount Royal as an undergraduate institution.”

“This is certainly an historic moment and another significant benchmark in Mount Royal's continued journey to better serve our students and community,” says Mount Royal President Dave Marshall.
