Calgary Pride Parade

A delegation of enthusiastic staff, faculty and students from MRU will take part in Calgary’s annual Pride Parade. Details.

Parent Orientation

Drop-in event with important information around transition and success of new students to Mount Royal. This event is for parents or supporters who want to learn more about their role, the student life cycle and supports on campus. Students are welcome to attend, but the event will be directed at parents. Details.

Beakerhead at MRU: Have you Ever Wondered; celebrating chemistry

To celebrate the launch of our new Chemistry major, MRU is hosting a Pop-Up Science Carnival.

Why are red M&Ms so rare? What is the link between the smelly bombardier beetle and a long-range V2 rocket? Why does popcorn pop? Why are there holes in Swiss cheese? Have you ever considered why witches supposedly use broomsticks as a method of transportation? Can chocolate really make you fall in love?

After this presentation by popular science broadcaster Joe Schwarcz, you’ll wonder no more. Getting to the talk is half the fun, with a pop-up science carnival with hands-on experiments between 5 and 7 p.m.! Come early! Details and tickets.

Beakerhead at MRU: What's So Special About A Weasel's Head; 360 immersion experience

Come explore the Weaselhead Park through an all-day immersive installation with 360-degree visuals and VR headsets. At 5:30 p.m., meet those studying the Weaselhead Parks ecology and the biological impacts of the Southwest Ring Road and share in what they have learned.  Discover immersive soundscapes, and a unique, engaging perspective on Calgary's wild spaces.
