History

In 1987, under the chairmanship of Lynn duFort, the Fine and Performing Arts Deparment – now the Conservatory at Mount Royal – produced the first summer stock performance of Shakespeare in the Park at Calgary Olympic Plaza. It was an immediate success. Since then, more than 750,000 people have taken advantage of this novel theatre experience.
