Shakespeare After Dark

Shakespeare After Dark is a program we are hope to introduce this summer. Designed to assist vulnerable youth in avoiding criminal activities, participants will produce and act in a version of Romeo and Juliet in conjunction with the regular production of Shakespeare in the Park.

Modeled after successful American programs, Shakespeare After Dark will employ approximately 30-40 at-risk youth, who will work full-time with theatre professionals and the Shakespeare in the Park company. Through this project we hope to assist these teens in developing life and vocational skills while building self-esteem and asserting a positive life direction.

The application to the Safe Communities Innovation Fund for project support has been submitted. Stay tuned to this website for details.
