Mount Royal University enlists in Project Hero
(CALGARY – Jan. 13, 2010) Mount Royal University is proud to join Project Hero, a scholarship program created to cover the costs of undergraduate tuition for students who have lost a parent while serving their country in the Canadian Forces.
“Mount Royal’s participation in Project Hero is our commitment to the dependents of the brave men and women of the Canadian Forces who are courageously putting their lives on the line everyday for our great nation,” says Mount Royal University President, Dave Marshall.
Mount Royal is among 38 institutions in Canada to enlist in this program.
“Project Hero was developed with the hope that it would be supported by post-secondary institutions across Canada,” says Kevin Reed, Honorary Lieutenant-Colonel of the 31 Brigade, Service Units and Chairman of Equity Transfer & Trust Company. “I am thrilled to have Mount Royal University participating in this initiative.”
The Project Hero award program at Mount Royal came into effect on Sept. 1, 2009 and will be reviewed in August, 2014.
