Polar climate advocate, Sir Robert Swan, to speak at
Mount Royal University

(CALGARY — Oct. 1, 2009) Polar explorer and environmental leader, Sir Robert Swan, will speak at Mount Royal University on Thurs., Oct. 8, 2009 at a free public forum. The presentation, entitled “Leadership on the Edge – leadership, teamwork and sustainability,” will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Ross Glen Hall, Roderick Mah Centre for Continuous Learning.

Robert Swan, the first person in history to walk unsupported to both the North and South Poles, is regarded by many as one of the world’s top motivational speakers. His presentation is part of the ENMAX/Thomas Wood Distinguished Speaker Series – presented by ENMAX Corporation and Mount Royal University.

Swan’s experiences from the past 25 years have evolved into an exceptional and dramatic story of success, failure, the ability to learn from one’s mistakes and ultimately, inspiring others to pursue their dreams. His unique insight from expeditions to some of the world’s most hazardous locations help Swan to engage, educate and stimulate his global audiences.
