Mount Royal University announces the appointment of Vice-President, Administrative Services
(CALGARY - April 26, 2012) The President of Mount Royal University, David Docherty PhD, is pleased to announce the appointment of Duane Anderson to the position of Vice-President, Administrative Services.
Anderson, who has been serving as Acting VP, Administrative Services since fall of 2011, officially commenced his duties as VP on April 1, 2012.
“I am extremely proud to continue my career here at Mount Royal. It is an exceptional institution and I am looking forward to contributing to the institution’s successful future in achieving our goal of becoming the leading undergraduate university in Canada, based on important measures of student success and satisfaction,” says Anderson.
Anderson brings more than 24 years of financial, management and accounting experience, with 14 of those years in senior positions at Mount Royal.
“Duane has been a valuable member of the Mount Royal community for a number of years now and it is only fitting that he be promoted to the position of VP, Administrative Services, where he will continue his leadership in providing accurate and timely support services to all areas of the University,” says Docherty. “After an extensive national search, we are thrilled to know that the best candidate was in-house all along.”
Anderson obtained his Society of Management Accountants of Alberta (CMA) designation in 1989 and holds a Business Administration Diploma — accounting major from Medicine Hat College.
As Vice-President of Administrative Services, he will also serve as Chief Financial Officer, overseeing the management of non-academic administrative and operational services. These specialized services advance the University’s mission by supporting a safe, healthy and productive environment for students, faculty and staff.
