WorldSkills Calgary 2009 provides summer jobs for Mount Royal students

(CALGARY – April 14, 2009) Mount Royal’s Career Services has partnered with WorldSkills Calgary 2009 to provide work term students to fill 21 different coordinator positions with students from 16 different degree, applied degree, and diploma co-op programs at Mount Royal.

The opportunities to work for this worldwide, nonprofit organization, hosting a world-renowned competition in Calgary, are exclusive to Mount Royal students who are seeking work terms this summer. Positions are not being posted with any other post-secondary institutions.

“It’s great that WorldSkills found so many programs offered by Mount Royal to fulfill their hiring needs,” says Martha Taylor, work experience coordinator at Mount Royal. “This is good news for our students as well in a difficult job market during uncertain economic times.”

Taylor says this is the largest, most significant single partnership that Mount Royal’s Career Services has been involved with as it includes more positions, more openings and more programs during one semester from one employer.
