Mount Royal’s degrees showcased at special event

(CALGARY — April 24, 2009) Students will get a more in-depth look at Mount Royal’s seven degrees at a special Degree Information Evening that takes place on Tuesday, April 28 at Mount Royal’s Ross Glen Hall in the Roderick Mah Centre for Continuous Learning from 4 until 9 p.m.

Mount Royal currently offers seven university-level degrees including Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Arts - Criminal Justice, Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Communication, Bachelor of Computer Information Systems, Bachelor of Nursing and Bachelor of Science.

Hundreds of prospective students are expected on campus for Degree Information Evening, which gives students and parents the opportunity to talk face-to-face with faculty and services to get personalized information about degree programs, admission, financing, support services and campus life, all in one place.

Mount Royal President, Dave Marshall, will host two 30-minute informal Q & A sessions for prospective students, their parents and friends at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. in EC 1065 in the Roderick Mah Centre for Continuous Learning.

“We want to provide as much information about our outstanding university-level degrees to both current and prospective students, parents, guidance counselors and teachers in the community,” says Marshall. “This year we are very pleased to add a Bachelor of Computer Information Systems to our curriculum.”

The event will include information booths for each of the degrees as well as booths for admissions and student services. There will also be a draw for prizes, which include a $500 gift certificate towards the purchase of textbooks at the BookStore and a $100 Cadillac Fairview gift card for use at Chinook Centre or Market Mall.
