Dual Credit

Dual credit programs

Dual credit initiatives enable grade 11 and 12 students in Alberta to engage in university-level coursework and simultaneously earn high school and post-secondary credit. Dual credit programming aims to encourage students to explore potential fields of study or career paths while in high school, and facilitate a successful high school to university transition. Mount Royal is currently engaged in dual credit initiatives with a number of Alberta high school districts.

Where offered, students of good academic standing can take part in courses offered by Mount Royal University taught in tandem by a university professor and a high school teacher in their current school. Students who enroll in dual credit programs get ahead of the curve while taking university level courses on high school time.
