General

Why should you attend NSO? Because it's going to be awesome.

At New Student Orientation you can win some swag, make new friends, laugh yourself silly at the I ♥ MRU Play and so much more. There are going to be a whole bunch of events that will provide you with the tools you will need to succeed during your time here at Mount Royal.

Each event is catered to your needs as a student and will give you insight into life here at Mount Royal as well as information on the many service areas we have here on campus.

It's also going to be a blast! There will be a ball pits, a pep rally, stories from the hilarious Jessi Kruickshank. Why wouldn't you want to come?

All students new to Mount Royal should attend an orientation event. We offer several orientation events which cater to all students.
Definitely you should attend! All of our orientation events play a vital role in your success here at Mount Royal. New Student Orientation happens on the first two days of the fall semester and is an important part of your education. There are also other orientation events for you and your family that can make a great addition to your NSO experience. 
Each Orientation session will have a faculty/program indicated below the registration information. Be sure to find the session specific to your faculty/program. That will be the Orientation event you should register into. 
Yes. All of our New Student Orientation events require that you register either through MyMRU or in person at the Registrar's Office. Parents can register for Parent Orientation here.
This event costs $75.00. This fee pays for lunches, swag, the keynote speaker, room bookings and more.
Yes. Both days offer different important orientation programming.
There are many ways that you can get to campus. Please visit the parking and transportation web site for information on the different transportation options.
Mount Royal's Student Technicians and Resource Tutors program has more information on myMRU, including activating your account, logging in, lost passwords and more.
No. New Student Orientation is only for students who have been accepted to Mount Royal. Admissions and Recruitment offers information for students who want to learn more about attending Mount Royal. 
For Fall Semester events, each faculty will be providing either a faculty or program specific orientation during New Student Orientation. These orientations are spread out over both days and have not yet been confirmed. Please check back or check with your faculty for more information.
Your schedule will be emailed to you along with additional day-of information at the beginning of September.
A current Mount Royal student leader will be guiding you around during NSO.
All students attending orientation will meet at the Recreation Entrance.

Mature Student Orientation

Mature Student Orientation is intended for students who are attending Mount Royal not directly out of high school.  
Mature Student Orientation is a great opportunity to network with fellow mature students as well as listen to presentations by faculty and campus service areas. 
Yes. Students must register for this event.
Yes, Mature Students should also register for New Student Orientation.
Mature Student Orientation will be in the Jenkins Theatre. If you need help finding the Jenkins Theatre you can view our campus maps.

Parent Orientation

Parent Orientation is for parents of students who are enrolled in a degree, diploma or certificate program at Mount Royal. This is intended to be a parent only event.
Parent Orientation will include presentations from Mount Royal administration, faculty and Student Affairs and Campus Life. There will also be a panel discussion. 
Yes. Parents must register for this event online. You can either register for one parent or two parents.
Parent Orientation will be in the Jenkins Theatre. If you need help finding the Jenkins Theatre you can view our campus maps.
