Because it's going to be awesome.

New Student Orientation is designed to help you make the most of your time at Mount Royal. It’s your chance to learn your way around campus while meeting your fellow classmates and future profs. We’ll cover the serious stuff like academic success and support services on campus, but mostly we’ll be providing you with a fun and interactive intro into life at MRU.

All students new to Mount Royal should attend NSO. We offer several orientation events which cater to all students.
Definitely you should attend! All of our orientation events play a vital role in your success here at Mount Royal.
Yes. All of our New Student Orientation events require that you register either through MyMRU or in person at the Registrar's Office. Parents can register for Parent Orientation here.
This event costs $75. This fee pays for lunches, swag, the keynote speaker, room bookings and more.
There are many ways that you can get to campus. Please visit the parking and transportation web site for information on the different transportation options.
Mount Royal's Student Technicians and Resource Tutors program has more information on myMRU, including activating your account, logging in, lost passwords and more.
No. New Student Orientation is only for students who have been accepted to Mount Royal. Admissions and Recruitment offers information for students who want to learn more about attending Mount Royal.
For Fall Semester events, each faculty will be providing either a faculty or program specific orientation during New Student Orientation. These orientations are spread out over both days. After attending both days of Orientation, you will know MRU like the back of your hand, be set up for your first year at MRU and meet your future best friend!
Your schedule will be emailed to you along with additional day-of information at the beginning of September.
Prior to NSO, you will receive emails. One will include a list of workshops you can choose to register for, one will be your confirmation and schedule.
A current Mount Royal student leader will be guiding you around during NSO.

Mature Student Orientation

There are workshops targeted to mature students as well as a specific mature orientation taking place during NSO on Sept. 7. The Mature Orientation will focus on some aspects regarding returning to learning, parental support and will have a strong focus on meeting other mature students.
We understand you balance many priorities, but we do strongly advise that you attend the full two day orientation to ensure you are getting the all information you need. However, if you are unable to attend both days, Mature Orientation will be Sept. 7 at 3 p.m and will be a high-level interpersonal program.
