Mature Applicants

The specific high school courses and grades required for admission vary by program, therefore, it is important to review the course and grade requirements for the program you are interested in.

Mature applicants must meet the requirements outlined below.

All Programs

Specific courses required by the program* must be presented for admission

  • English Language Arts 30 – 1 (or English Language Arts 30 – 2 if accepted by the program)
  • Group A course

*Specific courses required for your program as indicated in the admission requirements for your program. The specific courses required for your program count towards your Group A courses.

Note: Final/official high school and post-secondary transcripts are required for admission. High school grades are required to confirm the successful completion of the admission requirements for each program.
 

Fall Semester: Mature applicants are also required to list on their Application for Admission all Group A and B courses which are in progress and will be completed by June 30.

Winter Semester: Mature applicants are also required to list on their Application for Admission all Group A and B courses which were completed by Aug. 31.

Some programs require additional criteria such as an interview, a portfolio, an audition or a resume.

Conditional Admission - Mature Standing

Conditional admission will be based on the average of the two highest mid-term or final Group A grades reported at the time of application. Equivalent post-secondary courses may be substituted for required high school subjects where appropriate.

Your admission offer will be conditional until we receive all of your final official grades/transcripts. The conditions you have to meet will be outlined in your offer of admission.

All students issued a (conditional) offer of admission will be required to submit a $125 non-refundable registration deposit by the date specified in your admission offer.

Final Admission - Mature Standing

Final/official transcripts showing all the high school and post-secondary courses you have completed are required for admission. All of your conditions of admission must be met. These transcripts must be received by:

Fall Semester: Aug. 1
Winter Semester: Dec. 1

Unless a specific (higher) admission average has been indicated for the program of your choice, mature applicants are normally required to:

  • present the minimum grade in each course as required by your intended program of study and
  • remain in good academic standing (2.00 GPA in your current semester) if you are currently enrolled in any post-secondary coursework
