Farrier lighting it up at Women’s Championships

Tash Farrier and the Australian National women’s team are off to a hot start at the IIHF Div. III Women’s World Hockey Championships in Newcastle, Australia. The Aussies are 3-0 through two days of the tournament, with wins over Belarus, Slovenia and Hungary.

Farrier is second in tournament scoring with six goals and 10 points. Her best game of the tournament came in a 7-1 victory over Belarus, where the Cougars sniper netted three goals and three assists for six points in the convincing victory.

The Australian women will play Croatia on Saturday before their highly anticipated showdown with the Netherlands on Sunday. The Dutch women lead the tournament in goals scored with 25 through three games and have yet to allow a goal.

Farrier will rejoin the Cougars for the final week of the regular season on Feb. 10th as they prepare to enter the playoffs as the ACAC’s top-seeded team.
