Futsal Tournament results

Mount Royal University hosted the first ACAC Futsal tournament of 2011 this past weekend, and the home teams from both the men’s and women’s sides took first place.

On the women’s side, MRU lost just one game all weekend to Medicine Hat College, but avenged that loss on day three of the tournament. MRU outscored their opponents 40-11 over the weekend and because Medicine Hat had a tie on day two, the MRU women
emerged the winners.

Women’s results:
Mount Royal University – 5 points
Medicine Hat College – 4 points
Keyano College – 3 points
Lakeland College – 2 points
Olds College – 1 point

On the men’s side, MRU went undefeated in the tournament and outscored the opposition 39-12, but had a very close game against Medicine Hat on day three, edging the opposition 3-2. Medicine Hat again took second place.

The next Futsal tournament will be held on February 11-13th and will be hosted by Olds College.
