The Cougars men’s hockey team was looking forward to getting their feet wet this weekend with ACAC playoff action slated for Friday and Saturday night, unfortunately for them, both games were postponed to a later date.
The coaches were ready, the players fired up and the fans were raring to go; only problem was there were no referees to call the game.
This was case for Friday night’s affair, as a league scheduling glitch found no referees assigned to the match. After trying to track down refs and linesmen for over an hour, the game was called and will be rescheduled to a later date.
On Saturday, what was supposed to be game two was also postponed as the Alberta weather played havoc with the roads, causing the closure of the Queen Elizabeth II Highway for several hours.
With no teams able to travel, Saturday was also rescheduled to a later date.
More information to come.
