Soccer kicks off with opening weekend

The 2010-2011 ACAC soccer season is set to get underway this Saturday, September 11th on the MRU soccer pitch, as the Mount Royal University Cougars square off against the Medicine Hat Rattlers.

After dropping the ACAC final last season, the Cougars women’s team will look rebound with a win to start the new season as they seek to claim their ninth overall ACAC title.

Meanwhile, the Cougar men’s soccer team will have the bulls-eye squarely on their back as they enter the 10-11 season after claiming their 13th ACAC championship in the past 27 years.

The afternoon promises to be an exciting affair, as both teams will look to get a victory under their belts to start the new season. 

In addition, the home openers will also feature a smokie/burger barbeque for students and fans, as well as an HDPVR giveaway courtesy of Shaw Cable.

For just $5 you’ll be able to purchase a smokie/burger drink and bag of chips.

Game time is set for 12:00 p.m. for the women and 2:00 p.m. for the men.
