| Become a Lifeguard in Three Easy Steps | |
| Step 1: Lifesaving Society – Bronze Medallion This course is the prerequisite for Bronze Cross and is the second level of the Bronze Medal family. Course content includes CPR Level B and an introduction to the role of a lifesaver. Prerequisite(s): Bronze Star or 13+ years | |
| Step 2: Lifesaving Society – Bronze Cross & Standard First Aid This is a great combination course with Bronze Cross and Standard First Aid in one course! This course is the prerequisite for the National Lifeguard Service and includes an introduction to safe supervision in aquatic facilities. This course also certifies the candidate in Standard First Aid and CPR Level C and is the third level of the Bronze Medal family. Prerequisite(s): Successful completion of Bronze Medallion (does not need to be current). Proof of award is required. | |
| Step 3: Lifesaving Society – National Lifeguard Service (NLS) A lifeguard’s primary role is the prevention of emergency situations and the timely and effective resolution of emergencies. This program was designed to prepare lifeguards to fulfill this role as professional facilitators of a safe, enjoyable aquatic environment. Course consists of lifeguarding principles and techniques, together with environment specific items leading to certification in the NLS pool option. Prerequisite(s): 16+ years, a Bronze Cross award and current Standard First Aid certification. | |
Lifesaving Society – Swim and Lifesaving Instructor | |
This course will certify the instructor to teach Swim For Life swim lessons, Swim Patrol, Bronze Star, Bronze Medallion, Bronze Cross and Lifesaving CPR courses. | |
