
First Aid and CPR certifications are valid for:
| Course Name | Certification Expiry | Recertification Process |
| Automated External Defibrillator (AED) | 3 years | Re-certify as part of any CPR or First aid course. |
| CPR Level C | 3 years | Register in a recertification course prior to expiry date. After expiry date, a full course is required. |
| Health Care Provider | 3 years | Register in a recertification course prior to expiry date. After expiry date, a full course is required. |
| Emergency First Aid (EFA) | 3 years | Register in a full course as Occupational Health and Safety does not recognize a recertification at this level. |
| Standard First Aid (SFA) | 3 years | Register in a recertification course prior to expiry date. After expiry date, a full course is required. |
| Child Care First Aid (CCFA) | 3 years | Register in a recertification course prior to expiry date. After expiry date, a full course is required. |

All Red Cross courses have expiry dates in accordance with Alberta Occupational Health and Safety. An employer is permitted to require employees to recertify prior to the above dates, however are not permitted to exceed these dates.
If you require both a CPR and first aid certification or recertification, register in a first aid course ONLY, as all first aid courses listed include CPR Level C certification/recertification.
