Emergency Medical Responder (EMR)

Our EMR course is taught by the professional instructional staff from the Kinetic Medical Inc. This course is a 140 hour blend of independent study and instructor guided learning. The 90 hour classroom work is structured to train personnel to work as a member of the EMS community through lecture and lab practice. Students are expected to complete a minimum of 50 hours of independent home study using the course material provided. For a complete course outline and description, go to www.kineticmedicalinc.com.
NOTE: We do not spend time teaching CPR or First Aid.
Prerequisite(s): 18+ years and a Standard First Aid certification with CPR Level C completed within one year prior to the EMR course and must remain current for the duration of the course.

EMR Special Refund/Withdrawal Policy Recreation – EMR Course Registrations: - Cancellation requests submitted WITH course materials in excellent condition seven days prior to course commencement will be granted a full refund. Withdrawal requests submitted without course materials will be granted, minus a $200 material replacement fee. Any materials returned in poor condition will also be charged a $200 material replacement fee.
- Withdrawal requests after course commencement will be granted for medical reasons only minus a $75 administration fee. All course materials must be returned in excellent condition or additional fees will apply ($200 material replacement fee).
- Transferring to another Mount Royal Recreation - EMR offered program requires a transfer request to be submitted 10 calendar days prior to the course start date and will be subject to a $75 administration fee.
- Students who miss a class or are more than 15 minutes late forfeit all tuition paid and the ability to complete the course they are too late to attend.
