How to choose quality care

Here are a few suggestions to help you choose quality care for your children:

  • Is the atmosphere warm, fun, stimulating, accepting and inviting?
  • Are the rooms clean?
  • Are the toys neatly arranged and easily reached by children?
  • Are the staff actively engaged in respectful conversations with the children?
  • Is play initiated by the children?
  • Are meals and snacks nutritious and appealing?
  • When you read the planning sheets, does it look like a day your child would enjoy?
  • Read the most recent licensing inspection report.
  • Read the discipline policy to ensure that you are comfortable with it.
  • Review qualifications of all staff.
  • Are the children hearing positive behaviour suggestions, or do they often hear "no"?
