How to choose quality care
Here are a few suggestions to help you choose quality care for your children:
- Is the atmosphere warm, fun, stimulating, accepting and inviting?
- Are the rooms clean?
- Are the toys neatly arranged and easily reached by children?
- Are the staff actively engaged in respectful conversations with the children?
- Is play initiated by the children?
- Are meals and snacks nutritious and appealing?
- When you read the planning sheets, does it look like a day your child would enjoy?
- Read the most recent licensing inspection report.
- Read the discipline policy to ensure that you are comfortable with it.
- Review qualifications of all staff.
- Are the children hearing positive behaviour suggestions, or do they often hear "no"?
