Wireless Internet
Residence is 100% Wireless. The wireless network provided is Wireless-N technology.
To connect to the Residence Wireless Network use your MyMRU username and password. If you have not done so, you will need to have activated your MyMRU account.
Please Note: The Residence wired network ports are no longer active in rooms.
Wireless Printers: For security, the wireless network has been setup so two devices cannot "see" each other. therefore, wireless printers will not work in Residence. Please use a USB/Printer cable to connect any printers to your computer.
Antivirus and Firewall
Because the Residence Network is a shared network, we strongly recommend that you install/enable:
Phone (1 Bedroom Units)
Each 1 bedroom unit is equipped with a private Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) phone with voice mail, call display and free local calling. You will receive phone set-up instructions when you check in.
Phone (2 and 4 Bedroom Units)
Each unit (Apartment suite or Townhouse) will have one Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) phone in the living room or kitchen. All phones have call display and free local calling. Each resident will have their own private phone number with voicemail. You will receive phone set-up instructions when you check in.
