FOIP

The Freedom of Information and Privacy Protection (FOIP) Act legally prohibits Residence Services from discussing the files of a student, who is 18 years or older, with anyone other than the student unless we have written authorization to do so, in accordance with the Act.

We strongly recommend that students contact the Residence Office themselves for any questions regarding Residence - for example, billing details. If students wish to have their information released to another individual, they must complete a Residence Services FOIP Consent Form to authorize the disclosure.

This form is specific to the Residence Services Office, and only applies to information related to Residence.

Additional information regarding the allowable disclosure of student personal information by Residence Services can be found under Section 40 of the FOIP Act.
