Description: The Department of Education and Schooling at Mount Royal University invites applications for a tenure track position which will commence August 15, 2013, subject to final budgetary approval, at the rank of assistant professor. Priority will be given to entry-level candidates.

Duties: The department currently offers a four year Bachelor of Education, Elementary degree. The successful applicant will be qualified to teach introductory courses in education as well as senior courses in one of the following areas:
• Special needs and inclusive education
• Fine Arts (Art, Music, or Drama)
• Literacy and language development

New faculty at Mount Royal University are hired into one of two work patterns. The teaching/scholarship/service (TSS) pattern has a focus on teaching with the requirement that the faculty member be involved in a research program as well as service to the Mount Royal community. The teaching/service (TS) pattern has a focus on teaching and service only. There is an option to change work patterns once a candidate has completed the tenure process.
Qualifications: Qualifications for this position include a completed or near-complete Ph. D, experience teaching in the K–12 system, and relevant undergraduate teaching experience. Applicants interested in the teaching/scholarship/service pattern should have the intent and ability to pursue a relevant research program.
