Description: Reporting to the Coordinator, the Inclusive Post-Secondary Education Facilitator is responsible for organizing and managing the support of students with developmental disabilities in academic programs of study.
 
Duties: • Organize and facilitate the support of students with developmental disabilities in academic programs of study
• Support students in their primary role as post-secondary students so as to promote their personal competencies
• Modify educational material, assignments, exams and projects to maximize student learning and participation in course work
• Facilitate connections with classmates
• Ensure that student’s curricular goals and objectives are reviewed on a regular basis.
• Assist students to access facilities and participate in activities both on and off campus
• Liaise with academic and support departments from across the college to facilitate services for students
• Provide support to students in field placements, practica, and summer employment
• Maintain on-going communication with families
• Some flexibility around working hours may be required
 
Qualifications: • Minimum of 18 months previous related experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities
• Two year diploma in a relevant field of study is required
• Demonstrated commitment to the inclusion of people with developmental disabilities in community life
• Knowledge of individual learning styles and the ability to adapt complex materials to meet individual learning goals
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
 
Salary: $1,710.00 semi-monthly
