Description: Reporting to the Director the Receptionist provides front line customer service and some clerical support for the Iniskim Centre. This position is primarily responsible of acting as the first point of contact of the Iniskim Centre providing information on Iniskim Centre and Mount Royal University’s program and services. This is a continuing term position with an inactive period of June 16 to August 15.
 
Duties: Performs high quality receptionist functions
• Answer all incoming calls and handle caller’s inquires whenever possible
• Re-direct calls as appropriate and take messages when required
• Greet, assist and/or direct students, visitors and the general public.
• Provide office support to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of services
• Receive, direct, and relay telephone messages and fax messages
• Receive, direct and relay email inquiries
• Direct students and visitors to the appropriate staff member
• Pick up and deliver mail
• Open and date stamp all general correspondence
• Assist in the planning and preparation of meetings, conferences and special events
• Make preparations for staff and committee meetings
• Maintain an adequate supply of office supplies
• Maintain current filing system, filing
• Monitor the use of supplies and equipment, order supplies
• Coordinate the repair and maintenance of office equipment.
• Maintain Iniskim Centre Information bulletin boards
• Ensure adequate supply of various forms (e.g. funding applications) are maintained
 
Qualifications: • Grade 12 education or equivalent
• Secretarial or Business Administration preferred
• 1 – 2 years prior experience
• Experience in post-secondary education preferred
• Computer skills in MS Office essential
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
• Ability to prioritize work, multi-task and give attention to accuracy and details
• Flexible and able to manage multiple demands
 
Salary: $1,464.00 semi-monthly
