Description: This position’s primary responsibility is leading the Google Apps Migration Project for Mount Royal University (MRU) faculty and staff.

The incumbent will have proven project management experience delivering quality technology solutions within schedules and budgets. Demonstrated technical knowledge, particularly focused on email and calendaring services, for higher education is essential.

In addition to excellent planning and project management skills, the successful candidate must have the ability to effectively communicate with staff, students, and consultants verbally and in writing, and the ability to work with partners in pursuit of common goals.
Duties: • Manage all processes of the Google Apps migration project lifecycle for MRU Faculty and Staff
• Lead a diverse project team of technical analysts and functional subject matter experts
• Coordinate the activities of the project team members, contractors and casuals as required
• Develop, manage and monitor work breakdown structures and schedule
• Develop, manage and monitor project communications plans
• Develop, manage and monitor relationships with the project steering committee, project team members and project stakeholders
• Develop a migration plan and coordinate on a department basis
• Develop a mitigation plan for project risks
• Communicate project status, verbally and in writing, to the project steering committee, project team members and project stakeholders
• Facilitate problem solving, conflict resolution, and activities for projects
• Develop project team competencies through leading-by-example, coaching, training and constructive feedback
• Ensure quality of solutions and documentation matches MRU standards
• Ensure complete transition to the operations team for sustainment after project closure
• Enhance the MRU ITS Project Methodology as required
Qualifications: • Post secondary education with an emphasis in Information Technology
• 3 – 5 years previous experience
• PMP certification or relevant experience
• Strong project management and business analysis skills
• Experience with large IT projects, both Infrastructure and Applications
• Excellent interpersonal abilities and strong team skills
• Ability to independently handle multiple and concurrent priorities
• Ability to communicate to various levels of stakeholders
• Ability to define requirements and communicate with business clients
• Ability to work in a team as well as independently
• Able to multi-task initiatives and serve multiple client groups at the same time
Salary: $3,399.88 - $3,677.33 semi-monthly
