Description: As a member of the Web Development team, this position’s primary responsibilities include supporting MRU’s web initiatives as well as planning, developing, implementing and maintaining interactive web-based applications. You will work closely with our database and server groups to ensure security and connectivity. Other duties include assisting with the maintenance, upgrading and development of our Content Management System (Oracle CMS), portal solution (MyMRU), Mobile Application, evaluating emerging technologies and making recommendations regarding future direction. The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to work on multiple assignments for several diverse clients while adhering to industry standard project management techniques.
 
Qualifications: • Degree or Diploma in Information Technology
• Two to Four years related experience
• Experience developing web applications
• Demonstrated skills with:
o HTML
o Jquery
o PHP
o Java
o Javascript
o PostgreSQL
o CSS
• Experience with the following an asset:
o CMS technologies, including WordPress
o Portal technologies
o Ruby and Rails / Groovy and Grails
o Adobe Creative Suite
o Oracle
o MySQL
o Linux
• Understanding of trends affecting information delivery in the web environment
• Experience with developing mobile applications for smart phones
• Understanding of and experience with project management methodologies
• Excellent interpersonal abilities, strong team skills and ability to independently handle multiple and concurrent priorities
• Client focused and results oriented
• Strong attention to detail
 
Salary: $2,484.08 semi-monthly
