Description:

Mount Royal University requires an individual that is responsible for providing administration and technical support for audio visual and computing hardware on loan by IT Services to all MRU clients of Media Support Services.  This is a junior level position in the area of Electronic Equipment Services.  The incumbent is expected to have the personal and intellectual skills necessary to manage the assets in their custody and handle the requirements of a booking schedule during peak periods during the academic year.  The analyst must be self-motivated, able to learn and retain processes and procedures, and be able to provide comprehensive data reporting clearly and immediately to management as required of the position.

Patience, creativity, excellent interpersonal skills, intelligence, and team player qualities are essential attributes of a Media Support Analyst.  Incumbents are required to assume planning and implementation responsibility for their tasks.  The Media Support Analyst, will be expected to coordinate with other IT Services groups and external faculty and administrative departments to provide end user solutions.

This position involves flexible shifts between 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday to Friday. There may also be a requirement to work some weekends.  These shifts will mainly occur during the Fall and Winter semesters, but not exclusively.

 
Duties:
  • The Media Support Analyst is required to maintain and develop a service/support location (Media loan Desk) for Faculty, Staff and Students in coordination with the Electronic Services Group for select classroom/lecture theater audio visual equipment and technology.
  • Training, configuring and troubleshooting an array of classroom presentation and lecture technology.
  • Coordinate, schedule requests and provide appropriate technology configurations and preparation for campus wide events. (lectures/speaker series events/newsfeeds/webcasts/videoconferences)
  • Creating technical documentation for end users regarding software and hardware

 

 
Qualifications:
  • Ability to handle multiple and concurrent priorities
  • Experience in dealing with customers using a variety of technology
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A related IT diploma or degree
  • Related experience supporting and maintaining multimedia presentation equipment
  • Demonstrated software and hardware troubleshooting ability
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
 
Salary: $1,887.63 semi-monthly
