International Students - How to apply for admission
Visit our Apply Now page and click on Apply Alberta.
Apply early! Early admission is open from Oct. 1 to Feb 1. We encourage application during this period as some programs have a deadline of February 1 or fill up early. The application deadline for International applicants is March 15.
Although you are strongly encouraged to have your application for admission and all supporting documents at Mount Royal by February 1 to be considered in Early Admission, all final/official high school and post-secondary transcripts must be received at Mount Royal by April 15 to meet the final deadline for international applicants applying from outside of Canada (to allow time to process your application and for you to obtain a study permit).
International students must contact all high school and post-secondary institutions attended to request submission of your official high school and post-secondary transcript(s) directly to Mount Royal University. If your school does not issue transcripts directly to another institution, you must present your original transcripts along with a certified English translation from an appropriate translation service, where necessary.
Visit our English Language Proficiency Requirements to ensure you can demonstrate adequate knowledge in the areas of reading, writing, listening and speaking in the English language to be successful at Mount Royal.
You will receive correspondence to the email address you provide on your application for admission if you are missing documentation.
Mount Royal University is a Designated Learning Institution as per Citizenship and Immigration Canada, permitted to host international students on a study permit. A list of Mount Royal’s designated learning programs can be found here. The University’s DLI number is located on your visa letter.
You will receive an official letter in the mail from Mount Royal with our admission decision.
If you are admitted to Mount Royal University, you may receive a conditional offer of admission or a final offer of admission.
Conditional offer of admission: You have one or more items (conditions) outstanding. These items will be noted on your conditional admission letter. You will not receive final admission until these conditions have been met.
Final offer of admission: You have met all admission requirements and conditions and you are fully admitted.Visa Letter: If you are issued a final offer of admission, you will also receive your visa letter with your final offer of admission. You will use your official admission letter and your visa letter to apply for your study permit.
