The Mount Royal University Archives acquires, preserves, and makes accessible archival records that are significant to the history and life of Mount Royal University and its students, faculty, and staff. The archives are open to everyone: students, faculty, staff and the general public.
HoldingsThe archives holds many types of records including: textual records (such as correspondence, meeting minutes, and reports), photographs, audio/video recordings, maps, architectural drawings, digital records, and artwork. The archives also holds campus publications including yearbooks, academic calendars, as well as newspapers, magazines, and newsletters published by university offices and campus organizations.
We're currently working on establishing online archives database that will contain searchable finding aids of our holdings. Until it's ready to launch, please contact us for detailed information about what the archives holds, or for help with your research.
Open hoursThe archives is regularly open Monday to Friday from 10am to 12pm, and is located in room I-157. Please feel to drop by anytime during open hours! Appointments for other times can also be booked by contacting us.

New facilityIn summer 2017, the archives will be moving to an exciting new space on the fourth floor of the Riddell Library + Learning Centre, which is currently under construction. The new space will contain:
- a public reading room for working with the collection
- a compact storage area for maximum collection space
- office and conservation areas to provide the necessary tools for care, digitization, and preservation of archival holdings
