Our researchers and educators are selected from faculties at Mount Royal University, as well as universities and colleges across Canada and around the globe. The applied knowledge that can be gleaned from studying the circumstances of security-related situations and events are rarely collated and taught. We are focused on bridging this gap by engaging in research, needs analysis and educational initiatives to build a body of multidisciplinary expertise. This knowledge will inform community, corporate and government stakeholders on advanced issues in public safety and security, as well as enhance public safety through the application of evidence-based inquiry.
Research topics include (but aren’t limited to) security professional competencies, transit security, creating safe urban environments and community policing. All research projects are developed in collaboration with MRU’s Office of Research, Scholarship and Community Engagement and follow all required protocols.
