Full-Time English Language Programs

There are three full-time, non-credit English language programs at Mount Royal University.
Program/level and schedule are determined by placement test.

  • English Foundations (EF)
    EF Levels 1 to 3 focus on general language development.

  • English for Academic Purposes (EAP)
    EAP Levels 1 to 3 focus on academic preparation for students who plan to enter university, college or technical school or take a standardized English exam such as TOEFL. Graduates of EAP Level 3 with an 80% average (B- grade) satisfy the language proficiency requirement for credit programs at Mount Royal University.

  • English for Advanced Communication (EAC)
    EAC Levels 1 and 2 focus on high intermediate to low advanced oral fluency and accuracy.

Fee: $1,600 ($35 placement test fee is included)
This fee applies to Canadian citizens, landed immigrants and refugees only.

 Spring 2012 Term

New students must register in both CRNs.

 Textbook (required for each level): approx. $250+GST at the BookStore


Schedule:

EF 1-3 and EAC 1-2Mon.-Fri.1-5:30 p.m.
EAP 1-3Mon.-Fri.8:30 a.m.-1 p.m.

Placement test: March 28, 2012

  • International students should contact the Languages Institute office.
  • If you have high oral skills with low reading/writing skills you may be directed to another institution for a literacy program.
