Communication Skills for Health Professionals

This course is open to international students, landed immigrants and Canadian citizens and is designed for internationally educated nurses, midwives, doctors, pharmacists, occupational therapists and physiotherapists who need to improve their language skills to succeed in their profession in Canada. The course provides the curriculum of the Professional Communication for Internationally Educated Health Professionals (PC-IEHP) program and includes Institutional CELBAN results and completion of the Orientation to Canadian Health Care Systems, Culture and Context. This course is recognized by the Multi-jurisdictional Midwifery Program for internationally trained midwives and by the Bridge to Canadian Nursing program at MRU.

Pre-requisite: CLB 7 in Listening and Speaking and CLB 6 in Reading OR IELTS Academic 6 with minimum 6 in Speaking and Listening OR iBT TOEFL 80 with minimum 18 in Speaking.
