Since receiving her doctorate, Sharon Smulders has widened her areas of interest from nineteenth-century poetry and women’s writing to include studies in children’s literature. In addition to teaching courses in these subjects, she has also published articles on the work of Elizabeth Barrett Browning, Gerard Manley Hopkins, Alice Meynell, Beatrice (Culleton) Mosionier, Christina Rossetti, Dante Gabriel Rossetti, Robert Service, Ann and Jane Taylor, and Laura Ingalls Wilder. Her book, Christina Rossetti Revisited, appeared in 1996.
