The History of Art is the history of Civilization
Apart from the depth of understanding you will gain from a discussion of art throughout the centuries and across the globe, you will develop analytical skills and a visual literacy that will help you understand our own time more fully.
You will learn about individual artists and their times and how their art communicates thoughts ideas and emotions. If you hold an interest in how the customs, beliefs, and values of different cultures developed over time and are recorded in artistic production, Art History may hold the key. If you want to broaden and strengthen your knowledge in a design related field such as Interior Design, Architecture, or Industrial Design, Art History will provide the context and theory you need.
