Educated at the University of Alberta, Laurana Rayne is a long-time sessional instructor, having taught about issues in consumer economics since 1981. Her particular interest is in helping students become conscious of consumer issues and understand their impact both individually and globally, and she is currently working on a book on the subject. In addition to her teaching at Mount Royal University, she has worked in various capacities in association with business, government, and not-for-profit organizations.
