Prior to coming to Mount Royal, Ben worked at the Canadian Competition Bureau as a Senior Economist. During this time, he was the lead economist on many files involving both policy analysis and the enforcement of the Competition Act. Many of these files involved the natural resources and transportation sectors of the economy. Since leaving the Bureau, he has gained teaching experience at the University of Alberta’s Augustana campus in Camrose, and Grant MacEwan College in Edmonton. Ben’s primary research areas are Industrial Organization and Competition Policy, particularly in relation to retail gasoline, liquor and airline markets.
