Studies show that BA grads just a few years into their careers have salaries on par with business degree holders (Source: Statistics Canada). Regardless of the major you choose, you will gain valuable transferable skills including research, written and verbal communication, problem solving and critical thinking skills.

Mount Royal also provides an honours stream in six of the seven majors. This enriched program is for qualified students who wish to take their studies to a higher level and prepare for graduate or professional school.

Mount Royal BA students also have the opportunity to pursue work experience through co-operative education.

If you are unsure which major you wish to take, you can apply without declaring a major your first year. Admission to the BA Undeclared lets you take courses across a broad range of disciplines before you choose your major.

Minors in Arts

In addition to the requirement to select a major, you may wish to complete a minor in the following approved areas of study: Anthropology, Art History, Economics, Education, English, Film Studies, French, History, Humanities, Linguistics, Philosophy, Policy Studies, Political Science, Psychology, Religious Studies, Sociology, Spanish, Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) and Women's Studies.

  • an internship is an integral component of the Policy Studies major.
