Karen Manarin came to Mount Royal in 1998 and has taught composition, first-year literature, literary theory, poetics, Canadian literature, Romantic literature and gothic novels. She has published and presented on nineteenth-century British and Canadian authors, including William Wordsworth, Dorothy Wordsworth, Elizabeth Barrett Browning, Robert Browning, Edmund Gosse, Catharine Parr Traill, and Susanna Moodie. Her current research projects include examining late nineteenth-century and early twentieth-century scholastic editions of British poets and gathering information about how people read texts.
