Barbara Hibberd received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Calgary in 1969, winning the Faculty of Arts and Science gold medal. She taught high school for some years before embarking on a career in accounting, earning her CGA designation in 1979. Barbara honed her accounting skills during ten years' service as an accounting manager and controller in Alberta's manufacturing sector before returning to the University of Calgary to complete her MBA degree in 1992. Prior to joining the faculty of the Bissett School of Business at Mount Royal in 1995, Barbara spent three years at Olds College teaching a variety of accounting, marketing and management courses. During her tenure in the Bissett School for Business, Barbara has twice been nominated for an Mount Royal Teaching Excellence Award. From January 2001 until 2004, Barbara assumed the role of program chair of Accounting, Financial Services and Insurance.
