Education: Dr. Legg completed his Bachelor of Physical Education at McMaster University and his Masters of Human Kinetics from the University of Windsor. He went on to complete his Doctorate at the University of Alberta investigating the strategy formation process in a Canadian national sport organization.

Current Work: David is the program coordinator and instructor for the B.B.E. - Sport & Recreation program. David has also been the College Research Officer and Chair of the College Research Ethics Committee for the past 4 years.

Instructor Profile: David was named as one of Calgary's 40 Under 40 in 2003. He has given over 40 professional presentations and published over 40 articles in a variety of journals.


Community Service/Research Interests:

As a volunteer, David is currently the Vice President for the Canadian Paralympic Committee, Technical Officer for the America's Paralympic Committee, Treasurer for the Alberta Youth Olympic Symposium, Board member for Sport Alberta, Research Fellow at Northeastern University's Centre for the Study of Sport and Society and a member of the editorial board for the International Journal of Sport Management.

David’s research interests include those related to sport management and adapted physical activity. Recent projects have included a long term study assessing the efficacy of various physical modalities for children with Cerebral Palsy. A second study completed in 2006 is titled SPLISS (Sport Policies Leading to International Sporting Success). This was a study funded by Sport Canada and included researchers from the U.K., Netherlands, Belgium, Italy and Norway.
