Education: Ian completed his Master’s of Arts in Leadership & Training (MA-LT) at the Royal Roads University in 2002. Ian attended the University of Calgary for his Bachelors of Physical Education with a specialization in Outdoor Pursuits in 1995.

Current Work: Ian Sherrington is an instructor and academic advisor for the Ecotourism and Outdoor Leadership Program. He came to MRC in 1998 and took a full-time faculty position in 2002.

Instructor Profile: Ian teaches various academic courses in the leadership & program planning areas. He is heavily involved in activity courses in backcountry skiing, avalanche awareness, mountain biking, and wilderness survival program areas.


Community Service/Research Interests: Ian has been involved in a number of expeditions to the Himalayas, Alaska , South America and the Canadian Arctic but when at home he enjoys helping his two young daughters develop their own passion for the outdoors.
