Victoria has been a full-time instructor in the Bissett School of Business at Mount Royal since 1994, having taught part-time since 1988. During that time, she has been responsible for teaching both introductory and advanced venture and management courses. She has been instrumental in developing the curriculum for several courses in the Entrepreneurship program including New Venture Feasibility, the Consulting Practicum, and Entrepreneurial Leadership.
She was one of the Canadian co-authors with Leo Donlevy, a tenured faculty member from the University of Calgary, of the 3rd Canadian edition of the text Small Business Management, published by Nelson in Fall 2006. The text is a Canada's bestseller and is used at over 25 universities and colleges at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Victoria has served on a number of boards, including a two-year term on the Board of Directors for the Calgary Business Information Centre, a non-profit organization funded by the three levels of government. The Calgary Business Information Centre serves as a first point of contact to potential entrepreneurs, and provides additional industry data to small business owners interested in expanding their product or client base.
Victoria obtained a B.Comm. from Queen's University in 1978, and an MBA from the University of Western Ontario in 1980. Victoria was awarded a Teaching Excellence Award by the Mount Royal Student Association in 1995. She maintains a consulting practice specializing in both new venture development and the strategic issues relative to the growth or retrenchment of established companies. It has been in operation since 1984.
