As a community we have decided to move forward with the Aviation Career Expo on March 11, 2017. Coming together as a community and returning to our normal operations will help us to heal and rebuild after the tragic loss of two of our instructors.

This is a must-attend event for all pilots looking to expand their networking circle and work experience. Don't miss this opportunity to meet one-on-one with charter and commercial airline chief pilots and human resource staff.

Aviation Expo Ian Bio Photo Ian Stevenson flying career started in 1996 in the northern part of Ontario flying float aircraft after graduating from Confederation College’s Aviation Diploma program.  Over his career, Ian has flown throughout Canada, the USA and Mexico.  His type ratings include MU-2, Be 99 and 100, Bae 31 and 32, AC-69, C 441 and on his current aircraft, the CL-215T. 

For the last 10 years, he has been employed with Northern Air Operations flying Water Bombers during the summer months.  During the winter months you can find Ian instructing with Mount Royal University at their Aviation Program.  He currently lives with his wife Hillary and their two daughters in Airdrie, Alberta.

Ian will be speaking about making career choices and the importance of setting goals in order to attain the job that will suit you the best.  He will also touch on what it is like to be behind the controls of a Water Bomber and the life that comes with being a tanker pilot.

Aviation Expo Speaker Neal PhotoCapt. Neal M. Peterson, FRAeS, is a past aLUMNUS (1970-71) of the Mount Royal University Aviation Program.

With a professional aviation career spanning over 45 years, Capt. Peterson is type rated on B787, B777, L1011, and B737 aircraft and has logged over 19,000 hrs. of flight time, with over 8000 hrs on the B777. Dedicated to the enhancement of air safety, Capt. Peterson was awarded a Fellowship to the Royal Aeronautical Society of London, UK.

Capt. Peterson’s career is global in nature as he has worked as a contract pilot at Saudi Arabian Airlines, Korean Air and Jet Airways of India, finally finishing as a Flight Operations Inspector, Air Accident Investigator, and SAFA Coordinator for the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority. Capt. Peterson resides in British Columbia with his wife Kathy and maintains an active aviation consulting business that focuses on training, safety audits and special military projects.
